The location was perfect – a stunning spot in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within Bodmin Moor International Dark Sky Landscape Core Area – but the old cottage was too small for this young, Cornish family.

They had a clear vision of their new family home, one of wooden beams, natural slate and Cornish stonework which would blend beautifully into their environment, nod to the old cottage’s character and provide them with the living space they needed.

JATA Designs got to work bringing the clients’ vision to life, opening-up the old cottage, adding a wrap-around extension and a new viewpoint for the family to enjoy the breath-taking views of Bodmin Moor. All trades worked together seamlessly, not only keeping the site clean and tidy but keeping disruption to a minimum for the family who remained on site throughout the build. JATA Construction were mindful of neighbours too – one of whom worked nights – which helped the family win hearts and minds in their new local area. Inset solar panels, installed by JATA Connections now feeds the house with renewable energy and the family’s home is protected with smart security solutions.
