Nestled in the heart of Bodmin, this Grade II listed building was ready for its next chapter. Our task? To completely renovate and restore the historic property into a modern, functional space for iBuntu – an independent opticians renowned for cutting-edge diagnostic tech and truly personal service.

With limited space for storage, space was tight. Careful planning and precise sequencing were critical. Every delivery had to be timed to the minute, and material handling had to be smart and safe.

Fortunately, site manager Tyler Gowan had it covered. With clear communication, strong leadership and a calm head under pressure, Tyler ensured the project stayed on track without compromise.

We restored the building in full compliance with heritage guidelines – preserving historic elements while modernising the structure. JATA Connections handled all mechanical and electrical work with typical precision, ensuring the building met modern clinical requirements without impacting the fabric of the structure.

A beautiful blend of heritage and function, now home to iBuntu, Bodmin. The space reflects the practice’s core values: exceptional quality, value, and individual care. It’s now fully operational, offering no-rush appointments, advanced diagnostics, and a wide selection of designer frames and lenses – from Gucci and YSL to Ray-Ban and Oakley.

Thanks to careful planning, dedicated project management, and skilled delivery, iBuntu’s Bodmin practice opened on time and to the high standard their customers expect. A high street icon, brought back to life.
