When rail arch upgrades rendered GAP Hire Solutions Tower Bridge depot closed for over 12 months, GAP used the time wisely. They took the opportunity to undergo extensive depot renovations. The job was complex, involving both Network Rail, a team of structural engineers and innovative construction solutions due to the unique characteristics of the location. Special care and attention had to be paid to the location – nestled underneath 200m of London’s railway arches – to deliver top-notch renovations for GAP Group’s Plant and Tools Division. With precision, we worked on the depot to create more efficient work space, fitted new offices and facilities with innovative anti-damp solutions, as well as new security and roller doors. All works had to comply with Network Rail’s exacting requirements and provide structural stability. The finished site was immaculate.

This well-timed renovation has led to operational benefits for GAP.

Gavin Smith from GAP’s Estate’s team also commented that this was a particularly tricky refurbishment job and JATA had to work within the exacting requirements that Network Rail insist on when works are undertaken within their structures and JATA managed the process well delivering a great facility in time for the new opening.
