New National Planning Policy Framework Published

New NPPF Published – What Does It Mean for Your Project?

There’s been another change in planning, with the Government publishing an updated National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

The NPPF is essentially the national rulebook that sits behind planning decisions in England. Local planning policy still matters, of course, but changes to the Framework can alter how applications, sites and future development are considered.

If you’ve been thinking about extending your home, converting a building, building a new property or you have a piece of land you’d like to do something with, now is a good time to get some advice.

There’s quite a lot covered in the new Framework, including housing, commercial development, transport, heritage, flood risk and protected landscapes.

What it means for an individual project will depend on the site and that’s the bit we can help with.

Bring us the property, the land or the idea and we’ll look at it from both a design and planning point of view. There may be an obvious route forward, there may be a few hurdles to deal with, or we might suggest approaching it differently altogether.

Much better to work that out before spending time and money drawing something that’s going to struggle at planning.

If you’ve got something in mind, give Daniel a call or drop him an email and we’ll have a look.
