JATA Construction sponsors St Austell Under 14s Girls Rugby

What do rugby, young women, and the construction industry have in common?

A construction site has always been seen as a ‘man’s world.’ Yet, we’re witnessing a powerful shift toward inclusivity, with women stepping confidently into roles across the industry. To make this change sustainable, we need to nurture it from the ground up.

Enter the next generation…

Resilience, teamwork, grit – these are essential qualities both on the rugby pitch AND on a building site. They’re the traits we need in construction: leaders who are strong, adaptable, and determined. We want young women to see construction as a place they can belong, thrive, and lead. And that inspiration starts now.

So, JATA Construction are sponsoring the St Austell Under 14s Girls Rugby Team, thanks to coach Will Gough. “Supporting this team goes beyond sports; it’s about empowering young women to build the confidence, leadership, and resilience that will serve them well in any field, including ours” says Will. “By investing in these young athletes, we’re laying the groundwork for a workforce that values inclusivity and breaks down barriers.”

This is one step toward a future where women are celebrated, supported, and encouraged to lead in construction.

Let’s inspire the next generation to dream big, work hard, and build even bigger.
